About
This project started with an assignment to design a Kinect poster on the student's choice of topic. I chose the song "Rich girl" by Gwen Stefani and later developed it into a project on "everything being too expensive". I expanded this concept to the next project, where I made it into a book. I used this book as a humorous and useful guide for students who found it difficult to afford living everyday life.
I used bold, bright colors and eye-catching visuals to mimic the loud, flashy style of supermarket advertisements, creating a playful parody of consumer culture. The design played with irony, using the exaggerated aesthetics typically seen in discount ads to comment on the rising costs of living. Along with the book, I designed a mini-supermarket with the same style.
